Why Now is a Good Time for Your Next Step

With all that is going on, it is understandable why you may be hesitant to leave the security of your current employment to take the next step in your career.

However, there are many fantastic companies out there that are in strong growth mode with excellent career progression opportunities, so why not have a conversation around what your options could look like?

Firstly, consider your primary motivator for staying where you are. Is it because:

  • you are recognised for your commitment and contribution, feel valued, have reasonable workload expectations, are invested in and have development opportunities, have a structured career plan, are rewarded / remunerated accordingly, and are essentially very happy where you are?

OR

  • you are scared?

If it is the latter, then in all likelihood the future doesn’t look too promising and you could be missing out on an opportunity that could provide you with all the above.

As you would expect, the number of people who are hesitant to look at next steps is undoubtedly higher than normal. What this means for you is that competition for high calibre opportunities is lower than normal.

Therefore, if you consider the numbers game, your chances of securing something really exciting is better than it’s ever been, and likely will ever be.

With absolute certainty, everyone we have helped transition into new roles / organisations in the last year is incredibly glad that they made the move.

To name a few, they have benefited from:

  • Salary increases
  • Promotion
  • Greater technical challenge
  • Increased engagement
  • Higher calibre leadership

When you think about it, there is nothing to lose by exploring your options. If no roles of interest come up, then you stay where you are. However, if an opportunity presents itself, and you feel genuine excitement about it, it could be a great step for you and you will have everything to gain. We are here to help!
